In my twenties, I learned to love daily, hard workouts, and I managed to sustain that commitment into middle age, although as I reached fifty, the ‘daily’ evolved into 3-4 times a week. In recent years, as I push on the ceiling of ‘middle age,’ I have dealt with some major physical limitations, like a total shoulder replacement and prostate cancer surgery. Despite, or perhaps because of those obstacles, I have tried to sustain my enthusiasm for staying physically fit. Regular trips to the gym kept me emotionally and aerobically fit, but introduced new, annoying hip, leg, and back problems.

Luckily, I met and engaged Ramsey as a coach. He pushes me, while keeping mindful of the physical limitations I’ve accrued over the past decade. Very quickly, he saw I needed to work on my core strength, my posture, as well as upper back strength, and we keep returning to those needs in our weekly sessions. Our sessions are characterized by his careful attention to how my body reacts to his challenges, by his affability, and by the welcome, old-time feeling I have at session’s end that I have had a hard workout. And my routine gym visits are now much more satisfying.
